Brian Role's first interest in magic aroused when he was about 8 years old, when for his birthday a popular Maltese magician performed for him. After buying his first magic book, Brian picked up a couple of routines and started entertaining his relatives with the little he learnt. When he was ten, he gave his first performance with a few tricks he learnt, during a 'Talent Show' at school. He performed several times in talent shows held in his locality and for school events and three years after he tasted a bit of what was to come when he performed in a small theatre in Sliema for about 150 persons.
Brian went on to studying electronic and electrical engineering. Later on he started worked for Malta's powerhouse.
In 1998 he joined the Malta Magic Society, which is affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and is known as Ring 202. He incorporated himself more in the art of magic and entertainment and soon began performing on a regular basis for the public. His first appearance as a magician on television caught an eye and gained him sucsess locally and abroad. In 1999 he started performing magic on a semi-professional basis and since then he was engaged to perform hundreds of times for TV, clubs, theatre and stage.
During that time Brian still spared a little time to assist some of the best magicians both locally and abroad and gained much experience from them.
After becoming a full member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Brian was elected secretary of Ring 202 and of The Malta Magic Society during the Annual General Committee Elections in 1999.
It was January 2000 when Julia Christiie, one of the world's greatest illusionists, spotted Brian performing while she herself was performing in Malta.
Julia Christiie saw the great potential artistry in Brian's work and invited him to perform in Mexico where she was to hold one of the most spectacular illusion shows organised for Mexico's main annual event.
After achieving fame in Villahermosa Mexico, Brian became Malta's only illusionist to perform in such a production with wild animals and Brian Role used some of the world's gems in illusion designs to be found. He incorpoarted his own acts during the 60minute show, which was viewed by about 250,000 people during the stretch of 35 performances and for millions on Mexican Local TV stations.
On returning from Mexico, Brian was invited to perform on a national level at an anual event in Malta's Royal Opera House, which was destroyed during the war time. Since then Brian has been engaged to peform both on stage and close-up magic for several foreign executives during convetional dinners and similar acivities.
Brian went on to fulfill his career on a profesional basis with his show in Spain. The show became a hit instantly on the Spanish Balleric Islands and became rated as the Top Cabaret Show of 2001.
On returning from Spain, Brian made another breakthrough in history of magic in Malta, when for the eve of the new year 2002 he performed during the most sleek event on the island a grand masquarade ball. Again the event was a hit. At the same time he produced two new productions, Magical Moments with Brian & Magic and S-Kape from Reality. He is now preparing to revolutionise Magic in Malta with new unbelievable ideas fresh from the inner secrets of his mind. The one important factor that makes Brian Role is his true devotion to magic combined with the challenge to entertain and mystify audiences of all ages and races around the world.
