Moose
(House, Progressive & Breaks)

Moose doesn't have much time for sleep.

For the last twelve years, his DJing career has taken him worldwide, playing at parties in Paris, in Naples, in Dublin, anywhere where the plane tickets take him. He cut his teeth Djing in France ten years ago, in particular at the famed Soma parties, which used to take place at the top of the Pompidou Centre in Paris, where he became resident.

Since then gigs have taken him to Germany (Ratingerhof in Dusseldorf) and Holland (Chemistry in Amsterdam). The last couple of years have seen him very much back on the international circuit. He travelled to Club Flow in Copenhagen (Denmark) as well as further afield (for Atmosphere in Moscow, Russia as well as dates in Chicago, USA). He also played more dates in Denmark (Club Dish & Club Delight, Aarhus), and Russia (Club Circus and Club Virus, Moscow) as well as further gigs in Sweden (Reaktor in Gothenburg), Slovakia (Crystal & Unique in Bratislava, Akropola in Ruzomberok), Finland (Deep Motion in Helsinki) Estonia (Atmosphere in Tallinn) and France (Trans Musicales in Rennes and Save The Vinyl in Paris), Ukraine (Ultra in Kiev) and many more. The tail end of 2002 also saw him at the Cream World Tour in Bratislava, at Zoo Bar and Carma Lounge in Copenhagen, Eye Candy and Loose in London, and Milk! In Estonia.

On the domestic front, he's played everywhere over the years, from Club UK and Ministry Of Sound to parties for the infamous underground crew Sancho Panza - including their reknowned Notting Hill Carnival sound system. His London residencies have included Plastic People, Ormond's, Sleaze at the Mass Club and Medicine. He has also played up and down the UK, from Scotland to Sussex.

He has also appeared as a guest on numerous radio mix shows, including stations like Kiss FM and MoS Radio (London), Radio FG and Radio Nova (Paris), Radio 105 (Italy), MDR Sputnik (Germany), Supernova FM (Kiev), Energy FM (Tallinn), ASR and P3 (Denmark), Q101 (Chicago), Insellradio (Mallorca), Univerdance (Canarias) and RAC105 (Barcelona).

His versatility (he is equally at home playing full-on peaktime tunes, dark progressive moods, mash-up breaks, more mellow house sets or digging deep into his record collection for those Balearic classics) has meant that he has been kept constantly in demand.

He mixed the first edition of "Euphoria" for Dance Dept in 1999, which went on to become one of the best selling dance compilation CDs in the UK. It won the award for best compilation of the year at the 1999 Ministry Magazine Awards. Moose then went on to mix the third edition of the highly popular series. However, they do not represent the House and Breakbeat-driven sets that Moose is currently playing.

Moose also has an extensive music production and engineering career, spanning the underground and the overground. He started producing tunes in 1994, and began working with Jamie White as Party Faithful in 1995, when they released "Let there be House" on XL. Another of their aliases is PF Project, and they scored a top 10 in the UK with "Choose Life", which samples the famous speech from Trainspotting. Moose went on to co-produce 2 tracks by Tzant with Jamie, including the classic "Sounds of the Wickedness", which was a big UK hit. Together with Nick Hanson he is Musique, whose U2-Sampling "New Year's Dub", signed to Serious/Universal Records, was released in the UK in May 2001 - it was a massive club hit and even went to no.15 in the UK sales chart. Moose's remix credits read like a who's who of dance music, and he's worked on tracks for artists as diverse as Nitin Sawhney, Dave Matthews, Thick D, Monie Love, Afrika Bambaataa, Phats & Small, Adamski and many more... and with forthcoming releases on US breaks labels like Phonomental and Xquizit, Moose is nothing less than versatile.

The future? In 2003, Moose will continue to concentrate on his ongoing solo remix & production outfit Philter, and also on running the Oven Ready label and the Oven studio in London, as well as setting up a whole host of new collaborations and remixes for Oven Ready. On the Djing front, Moose fulfils his new residency at Loosen Up in London, while internationally, gigs are taking him across the globe - a tour of Asia, Australia and New Zealand is being planned for 2003.
